Station keeping system

The special Hull Lines improve vessel’s behaviour and seakeeping
The vessel rotates around the turret mooring system
Five thrusters, 40 tons each are used to optimize heading control and mooring response
Ten lines, each with 400 m of 84 mm diam. 4 chain at the upper end
Actual mooring configuration will be dictated by conditions on location

Subsea production interface

Risers are handled through ten 1.1 m diam. riser tubes in the turret periphery, and connected to the chokes, manifolds and injection headers on the turret manifold deck

  • Additional risers can be handled through an 8 m diameter central turret moonpool
  • Subsea control and monitoring will be locally operated on Turret, or remotely from the Central Control Room

Individual operation of 20 wells or more; producers, gas injectors and water injectors

Turret production transfer system

The Transfer System comprises of a “wind off-wind on” rack of flexible pipes supported by a drag chain, maintaining central moonpool open for additional service functions

Oil, gas & water production capacities

For field developments ranging from 20,000 to 80,000 bopd:

  • Available deck area: 7,400 m²
  • Available deck load: 13,000 ton

Primary process installed:

  • Liquids capacity: 130,000 bpd
  • Gas capacity: 100 mmscftd

Arrangements and utilities have been laid out to facilitate other needs:

  • Water injection: up to 100,000 bpd
  • Gas inject/exp: up to 100 mmscftd

Production system versatility

The Production Systems are based on the “Modular Concept”. Equipment packages can therefore be installed or removed on location with minimum production down time

Power generation and utilities

  • Diesel generators: 5 x 3,000 kW, located in three engine rooms, one forward and two aft. Provision of space and interconnection are made for a total output of up to 40,000 kW
  • Steam boiler and provision of space for additional equipment
  • Fire and gas detection and fire fighting systems
  • Emergency diesel generator and UPS

Main control, offices and quarters

The computer based automation system controls and monitors vessel, marine subsea, production and safety functions

The forward accommodation comprises:

  • Central control room and offices
  • Complements for 104 people
  • Helicopter deck and reception

The structure is designed for 100 year storm and fatigue criteria to operate 20 years in the North Sea

Safety features

High redundancy of systems to allow performance even under severe weather conditions: three engine rooms, separate gas turbines and emergency diesel generators. Five thrusters 40 tons. Each, separate fire pumps fed from separate source of power, etc
Quarters located up wind of hazardous areas
Fire/Blast walls protecting the living quartes and aft deck area from the cargo area
Pressurized circular gangway running from aft to fore as a main escape route
Double hull with segregated ballast to sustain collision and pollution hazard
